What is the principle of Hydraulic Power Steering Pump?

2023-10-13

The working principle of Hydraulic Power Steering Pump is:

1. In the middle position (when the steering wheel is not turning). The oil from the oil pump returns to the oil tank through the inside of the steering gear.

2. During power steering, the oil from the oil pump enters the cycloid pinwheel meshing pair (metering motor) through the follow-up valve, and drives the rotor to follow the steering wheel to rotate, and presses the hydraulic oil into the oil cylinder according to the size, orientation, and quantity of the steering wheel's steering angle. Left chamber or right chamber, push the guide wheel to realize power steering. The oil on the other side of the oil cylinder returns to the oil tank through the follow-up valve.

3. Manual steering. When the engine is turned off, the steering wheel is operated manually, and the rotor of the metering motor is driven to rotate through the spool, dial pin, and linkage shaft in the steering gear. The metering motor presses the hydraulic oil into the oil cylinder to push the guide wheel to realize manual steering. .
